INTTRA launches automated invoice comparison and dispute system for ocean freight

Shipping industry e-commerce provider, INTTRA, announced it has developed what it claims is the ocean freight sector's first automated invoice comparison and dispute initiation system.

According to INTTRA, its new Automatch product eliminates the need for manual invoice verification, by identifying and initiating invoice disputes automatically using "configurable" business rules established by the shipper.

INTTRA said in a statement that through customer feedback and related intelligence gathering, it learned that at least 25 percent of all invoices in the ocean freight industry are disputed, creating several extra hours and potentially hundreds of dollars per invoice to manually process invoices to detect discrepancies, and initiate and manage the dispute.

INTTRA claims its Automatch makes the process nearly instantaneous, reducing dispute management costs and increasing accuracy and transparency to the shipping partners.

The INTTRA Automatch works with the existing INTTRA eInvoice dispute management module to match carrier invoices to shipper freight estimates, the tech firm said.
