Trade Tech to help educate Japan freight forwarders on new 24-hour rule

Logistics IT solutions provider Trade Tech has joined Japan International Freight Forwarders Association as a supporting member.

Trade Tech will actively support JIFFA's efforts to educate the shipping community on industry regulations and the latest IT solutions, including the Japan's 24-Hour Ocean Advance Filing Rules that go into effect March 1.

"The biggest issue facing the forwarding community right now is the deadline for compliance with the new Japan 24 Hour Rule which is approaching quickly," says Bryn Heimbeck, CEO of Trade Tech. "We want to help JIFFA ensure that the community in Japan is well-educated on the upcoming requirements because if cargo is not manifested in advance, carriers will not load it on board a vessel."

Our goal is to help non-vessel operators, carriers, forwarders and beneficial cargo owners avoid any and all penalties by making it easy for them to meet their filing requirements," added Heimbeck.

Trade Tech is the first U.S.-based provider to have its electronic filing solution for the Advance Filing Rule authorized by Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System.
