Freight forwarders ship toboggan for Super Bowl homage in Times Square

The owners of Staten Island's ACC Shipping were nervous about shipping a 60-foot-high, 180-foot-long toboggan run, so large it had to be shipped in two pieces from Italy to New Jersey.

The slide is the main attraction in Times Square on "Super Bowl Boulevard," a 13-block stretch of Broadway in NYC that has been transformed into a winter wonderland from noon to 10 p.m. daily through Feb. 1.

"I don't think I ever handled a shipment that had more pressure than this one," said Jeff Eskenas, co-owner of ACC. "I've had larger shipments before, but if this didn't go right, the NFL would have went crazy...We had to make sure this wasn't damaged in the shipping process."

The $5 Super Bowl XLVIII Toboggan Run has been a big hit with NFL fans and New Yorkers, according to the New York Daily News.
