Terex to deploy Amber Road global trade platform

Terex Corporation, a manufacturer of material handling equipment, will deploy Amber Road technology in 2014 to centralize and automate the management of its global trade processes, according to a statement from Amber Road.

Terex's $7.3 billion business, which ships industrial equipment from many different countries, will integrate the Amber Road platform across divisions to centralize the company's export and free trade methodology. The technology company said their solution would be integrated into existing Terex systems to streamline processes that ensure compliance with global trade regulations, reducing trade costs and risks.

"Free trade agreements are a multi-million-dollar savings opportunity, but much of it was slipping between our fingers," notes David Thomas, head of global trade at Terex. "As for compliance with trade regulations, we wanted to find a way to manage it more strategically."

Amber Road said their global trade management solution features free trade agreement capabilities, coverage of import and export management, and its Global Knowledge® trade content covering 126 countries.
