Damco appoints new global head of technology

Damco has appointed 30-year supply chain veteran Leo Bischoff as its new Global Head of Technology, starting November 1. In May Bischoff left Hewlett- Packard, where he served vice president of worldwide logistics.
 
Bischoff has three decades of experience in directing supply chain strategy and operational activities at companies such Hewlett-Packard, Compaq and Coca-Cola. He will be based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, working with Damco technology team members around the globe.

"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to work with Leo in the technology space, as his knowledge and experience will enable us to make a breakthrough in our efforts to build a strong value proposition for technology customers," said Eric Herman, global CCO of Damco.

"It is a clear ambition to make the technology sector a major contributor to our business, supporting our strategy to diversify our business further," he adds.
 
Bischoff holds an MBA degree in business strategies from Universidade Luterana do Brasil.

Damco provides global freight forwarding and supply chain management services, and is wholly owned by A.P. Moller-Maersk Group.
