Friday, April 18, 2014 Top StoryINTTRA: APL, MOL and UASC provided highest quality carrier data in MarchShipping e-commerce network INTTRA announced the March results of its Ocean Shipping Information Quality program, which examines carrier data provided by its shipping industry customers. The company said the program, which began earlier this year, lets carriers easily identify where data problems exist in order to improve their shipment information quality. The company statement said the lines that provided the highest quality data in March were APL, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and United Arab Shipping Company. According to INTTRA, the rankings sprang from an analysis of whether shipment status events matched with transport plans provided to shippers on the INTTRA network. "The delivery of high-quality data is a key element of INTTRA's strategic vision to drive enhanced supply chain shipment visibility in global trade," said Sandra Moran, chief marketing officer at INTTRA. "We congratulate the three carriers who have ranked in our latest 'Top 3' listing, and are pleased to see MOL join their ranks through a focus on prioritizing data quality." March also saw continued industry-wide improvement in shipment completeness across all carriers, INTTRA said. The program was created in September 2013 in conjunction with shipping lines to provide them with a standardized measurement system for global shipment data completeness, accuracy and timeliness, the statement said. It is comprised of a monthly carrier scorecard, the INTTRA Insights Platform for Visibility, and INTTRA Ocean IQ professional service engagements.
