Canadian National Railway adopts Quintiq Mobility application

Canadian National Railway Company has acquired Quintiq's Mobility Server to improve the performance of its container pick-up and delivery operations.

CN, which operates the only transcontinental network in North America, offers integrated transportation services including rail, intermodal, trucking freight forwarding, warehousing and distribution. The Quintiq application will allow the railroad to access real-time visibility of container pick-up and delivery using smart phones.

CN drivers can directly interact with their schedules as a result Quintiq's Mobility application. The Mobility App allows users to participate in the scheduling process, synchronizing with the Logistics Planner application to ensure optimal scheduling.

The new technology will enable Canadian National to maximize its intermodal delivery and improving its utilization of drivers, tractors and containers, lowering operations costs by reducing the number of repositioning moves.
