1 dead, 1 missing after cargo ship capsizes in Sea of Japan

One crewmember is dead and another is missing after the cargo ship Poline overturned in the Sea of Japan.

The rest of the ship’s crew have been rescued, according to Vladimir Pisklov, an aide to the head of Russia’s far eastern Primorsky Territory seaports administration.

"The second officer – one of the crew members initially recovered by rescuers – has died. The search of the chief officer is still ongoing," Piskov said.

The Cambodian-flagged cargo vessel with a mostly Russian crew overturned near North Korea due to a heavy storm. It was transporting timber from Russia to China.
