Crowley Maritime to deploy Tideworks TOS

Crowley Maritime Corporation is planning to implement the Tideworks terminal operating system solutions within its container terminal network, according to a Tideworks statement.

The project encompasses a multi-site software hosting agreement for up to six facilities within Crowley’s terminal network. The TOS infrastructure will be hosted and supported at Tideworks’ hardened data center. The first Crowley facility to deploy the Tideworks’ TOS will be its Port Everglades, Fla. terminal, which is scheduled for go live in early 2016, according to the statement.

The technology firm said the project includes implementation of Tideworks’ Mainsail Vanguard® core TOS, Spinnaker Planning Management System®, Traffic Control™, GateVision® gate operating system, and Forecast® web portal. In addition, Tideworks will provide its managed EDI

service, known as EDI Porter℠, so Crowley can exchange information with its trading partners and other enterprise systems.

"In order for Crowley to continue providing extraordinary service we must invest in our technology systems, with a focus on improving efficiency while maintaining safety," said Carl Fox, Crowley’s senior vice president of corporate services. "Introducing an integrated terminal operating system under a full-service model will enable us to better serve our current customers and position us well for future growth."

As part of its complete solution for Crowley, Tideworks will furnish all associated implementation services, including project management, software configuration and installation, integration services, user training, and go-live assistance.
