Port of San Diego to study impact of upgrading terminals

The Port of San Diego has initiated an environmental impact report to study the potential effects of a proposed upgrade of its Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal.

"The proposed plan will optimize the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal as a vital, global gateway for imports and exports and boost San Diego’s role as a true global city of the 21st Century," said the Port of San Diego’s Maritime Director Joel Valenzuela.

The prospective project will create three terminals in order to draw additional breakbulk cargo through the terminal. It includes the removal of outdated infrastructure and upgrades facilities to accommodate more cargo in an efficient and eco-friendly way.
