COSCON deploys CargoSmart software solutions





COSCO Container Lines (COSCON) recently implemented CargoSmart’s online customer service and ocean carrier analytics solutions.

The software company said its customer service solutions provide the shipping giant with process-oriented documentation and visibility tools for its customers to manage shipments online. The operations solutions help to optimize vessel operations, and using predictive analytics, COSCON can use global vessel and route data to improve planning, marine operations, and cost savings.

Increased visibility to vessel operation exceptions and potential disruptions will allow the carrier to respond faster and save costs, the statement said, and will enable customers to manage shipments the

shipment cycle in a more efficient manner.

"We see tremendous opportunities for all parties in the supply chain to leverage shipping data to improve shipment management planning and operations," said Lionel Louie, chief commercial officer of CargoSmart. "CargoSmart provides COSCON with data and services to unlock value for its online customer services and internal carrier operations."

COSCON will use CargoSmart’s private label solution for ocean carriers for its public website. The new features includes an integrated process flow for online booking requests and shipping instructions, cargo tracking, exception management, reports, document sharing, and customer support chat.
