Tideworks unveils its "next generation" terminal ops system

Seattle-based Tideworks Technology, Inc., announced the unveiling of its next-generation terminal operating system, termed Mainsail Vanguard.

The software company said Mainsail Vanguard is built on Adobe Flex, a rich internet application framework for building what it says are highly interactive applications.

According to Tideworks, the new system provides interactive search tools, one terminal operating system for containers, ro-ro and breakbulk, user customization, and a lower total cost of ownership.

“It was important for us to involve our customers in the process of developing Mainsail Vanguard,” said Tideworks CEO Michael Schwank.

“We have been working with beta partners all along and are now making the first version of Mainsail Vanguard available to our customer base, free of charge, so they can begin taking advantage of its features and provide us additional feedback,” he said.

The company said Mainsail Vanguard is already scheduled for deployment with two of its customers in 2011.
