Kalmar to engineer eco-friendly dual fuel reachstacker

Kalmar is engineering a reachstacker prototype that uses dual fuel technology (diesel and liquefied natural gas) as the primary industrial partner of the Greencranes pilot project.

Kalmar and Global Service, the Italian equipment company that runs the pilot, are working closely on the creation of the eco-friendly prototype, expected to be ready by the end of October 2013. A public demonstration will take place in December 2013 at the Port of Livorno.

The pilot involves adapting a Kalmar reachstacker to run on diesel and LNG to reduce its environmental impact.
