Konecranes to deliver 7 cranes to Austrian engineering firm

Konecranes will fill an order for seven industrial cranes from Austrian machine engineering company Maplan. They will be delivered during the second quarter 2016 to the company’s production facilities.

Maplan specializes in elastomer engineering, according to Konecranes, and produces elastomer injection molding machines used mainly in O-ring and sealing technologies, which have automotive applications.

The seven ordered Konecranes cranes will be used for machine assembling in the manufacturing line. The cranes — two single girders, three double girders, and two wall travelling cranes — will have a lifting capacity ranging from 0.5-30 tons.

The cranes will be equipped with different kinds of advanced features. Two of the CXT hoists are in tandem use, meaning that they can be operated at the same time with one remote control. The tandem solution enables safe and easy load handling. In addition, there is a load display for the 30-ton CXT crane, which helps to control the load weight before lifting and offers increased safety.

To optimize crane usage, Konecranes said it would also provide training for the crane operators immediately after the compliance tests from the authorities. The agreement includes a maintenance contract for the new Konecranes cranes and also for other existing equipment.
