Panjiva launches Google-like search platform for global sourcing

New York-based Panjiva announced the launch of a Google-like searchable supply chain intelligence platform where those who are sourcing overseas suppliers can find them based on the products they supply, the geography in which they are located, and locate other U.S. companies with whom they have done business.

Users can also search Panjiva with specific queries, such as for competitor or supplier names, or broader searches by region or item, the company said.

Panjiva said the latest version of its search platform allows users to save, compare, or group companies via a drag-and-drop "myPanjiva" toolbar.

"With the persistence of poor economic conditions - not to mention the typical language, legal, and time-zone obstacles to doing business across borders - sourcing teams have enough challenges to overcome. Panjiva aims to minimize this burden," said James Psota, Panjiva's chief technology officer.
