Freightgate and logistics partner develop HTS compliance module
Freightgate and logistics firm Alliance International have created a new Harmonized Tariff Schedule compliance module designed to share HTS information between importers and custom brokers.
The Harmonized Tariff Schedule is a global classification system used by more than 150 countries to describe imported goods.
The HTS compliance module has been integrated into the Freightgate Universe, a logistics cloud platform that allows companies to collaborate with stakeholders on one sourcing platform across the supply-chain.
The module provides a streamlined way for importers to store and track product classification information and share it with customs brokers, the statement said. Since the module incorporates direct access to U.S. Customs HTS classifications, customs brokers will be able to access the accurate data they need to clear shipments.
"It has been refreshing to work with the experts at Alliance Customs Clearance, tapping their vast knowledge and hands-on insight of what the market needs to improve these important processes," said Martin Hubert, president and CEO of Freightgate.
