Vietnam orders 4 Kalmar RTG cranes from Cargotec

Cargotec received an order for four Kalmar RTG cranes for the new Vietnamese Phu Huu Ward port in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City.

The four E-One2 Zero Emission RTG cranes are part of the first phase of development, which can handle 2,000-TEU container ships and 36,000 DWT ships. The cranes will be delivered during the first quarter of 2013.

The International Transportation and Trading Joint Stock Company (ITC Corp), which ordered the cranes for Vietnam, specializes in maritime transportation and other fields of multimodal transportation, forwarding and trading seaport operation. ITC has begun an investment plan of more than $180 million, which includes the construction of the new Phu Huu Ward port.

Construction began in 2010 and spans an area of 41 hectares with a 900-meter pier. The first phase includes a 600-meter long pier that should be operational the second quarter of 2013.
