Konecranes scores Canadian order

Konecranes has received an order for 5 rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes from Termont Montréal Inc., a container terminal operator at the Port of Montréal, Canada. The cranes will be delivered in the second half of 2016.

The Port of Montréal is a key gateway to the industrial heartland of North America. Termont Montréal Inc. is one of two container terminal operators in the port.

The 5 RTGs on order are 16-wheel RTGs equipped with Konecranes’ patented Active Load Control

system for maximum stacking productivity. They will have a lifting capacity of 60 tons, stacking 1-over-6 containers high and 6 rows plus truck lane wide.

The cranes will feature Autosteering, a driver-assisting feature that keeps the crane on a pre-programmed, straight path, and Stack Collision Prevention. The cranes will also be equipped with TRUCONNECT® remote service that provides 24/7 access to a global network of support centers, offering expertise to help solve potential problems and reduce downtime, according to the Konecranes statement.
