Largest mobile harbor on East Coast lands Baltimore

Port equipment manufacturer Liebherr announced it recently delivered the U.S. East Coast’s largest Mobile Harbor Crane to Rukert Terminals at the Port Baltimore.

The terminal facility at Rukert handles metals, ores, salt, alloys, and other dry bulk and break-bulk cargoes and containers.

The new crane has a lifting capacity of up to 140 tons and a maximum outreach of 51 meters, the company said.

“This is an exciting time in the 90-year history of Rukert Terminals, said the marine terminal’s president John Coulter in a statement.

With the construction of a new 1000-foot long berth with 50 feet of draft designed specifically with this crane in mind, we are ready for the next generation of vessels,” said Coulter.
