Massport chief answers questions in live, web-based chat
A new, web-based real-time live chat “Question the Authority,” was launched on Thursday by the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport).
Thomas J. Kinton Jr., the CEO and executive director of Massport, answered questions during the lunch hour.
Kinton was named to the port’s top post in 2006. The port authority oversees Boston Logan International Airport, Hanscom Field, Worcester Regional Airport, public cruise, cargo and container terminals.
“This is a way for us, in the interests of open and responsive government, to connect with people who use our facilities, are impacted by them, or simply want to know more about the Authority, which is an economic engine for the region and uses no state tax money for its operations or capital improvements,’ Kinton said in a statement.
Questions are submitted through emails and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
The port authority said it would feature different employees, board members and transportation guests as hosts of future, regularly scheduled sessions of “Question the Authority.”
