McGraw-Hill Education taps SBS Worldwide’s “electronic distribution center”

McGraw-Hill Education has contracted with SBS Worldwide for its global freight forwarding and logistics services for its inbound air and ocean business, including utilizing an electronic distribution center, it was announced.

SBS said in a statement that it would manage McGraw-Hill Education’s cargo logistics into the publisher’s headquarters in Maidenhead, Berkshire, including inbound shipments from locations that include the U.S., Australia and Singapore.

SBS said it would also facilitate a drop shipment service for direct delivery to McGraw-Hill’s customer publishers and their respective freight shippers.

As part of the logistics package, McGraw-Hill Education will utilize SBS’s Electronic Distribution Center (eDC) tool that includes access to real time data on global consignments down to the ISBN number, according to SBS in a statement.

The eDC will allow McGraw-Hill to track, manage shipments, and measure KPIs, SBS said.
