Kalmar scores another equipment order from Chilean port operator

Kalmar, a division of Cargotec, has received an order from Chilean port operator Puerto Central (PCE) for 24 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors and three Kalmar DCG160-12 forklift trucks. The order is scheduled for delivery in November 2015.

As part of the plan to become one of the largest container terminals in Chile, PCE is building a new multipurpose terminal with a 49-foot draft, deep enough to handle Post-Panamax ships.

Phase 1 of the project, intended to transform PCE

into a multipurpose terminal with a capacity of 1.3 million TEUs, has already included the delivery of seven Kalmar E-One2 rubber-tired gantry cranes in July 2015. The terminal also operates eight Kalmar Ottawa terminal tractors, the statement said.

"We have a commitment to becoming one of the largest ports in Chile and yet again Kalmar has provided the best equipment solutions in a short delivery time," said Mauricio Argandona, operations manager of Puerto Central.
