Kongsberg Mesotech releases new maritime sonar security system

Kongsberg Mesotech recently announced the release of a new shallow-water maritime security sonar system, invented to meet customer needs for an affordable, rapid-deployment turnkey system for maritime security.

Mesotech's M3 MultiMode multibeam sonar is featured as the core of the new product, which can reportedly produce high-quality imaging records and 3D profiling data using the same sonar head.

The M3 MARSEC Shallow-Water Maritime Security Sonar System features multiple applications such as berth clearance, hull and structure inspection, unexploded ordinance/IED detection, body and evidence recovery, and diver detection and supervision, the statement said.

Kongsberg says the product is packaged in rugged, re-usable equipment cases and features all sensors for deployment.

A quick start guide can help when setting up the system, which says two people can install it in under one hour. The company says that experienced users can deploy the product in 15 minutes.
