Crowley christens latest ATB in Miss.

Jacksonville-based Crowley Maritime Corporation announced the christening of its ninth in a series of 10 new 185,000-barrel articulated tug-barge units (ATB) at the VT Halter Marine shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss.

The Innovation and barge 650-9 are to be chartered to Chevron to transport petroleum products throughout the Gulf of Mexico, the company said in a statement.

Three larger 330,000-barrel ATBs are under construction and scheduled for delivery by the end of 2012, the company said.
