Penske Logistics joins CargoNet to boost freight security

Penske Logistics has joined CargoNet to enhance its existing freight management security practices for its shipping customers, according to a company statement.

"We joined CargoNet to provide us with greater visibility across different states and regions of the United States," said Aaron Henderson, Penske's director of loss prevention. "It allows us to better identify areas that require additional security and when a theft does take place we're able to move quickly to recover the assets."

Using a national database and information-sharing system managed by crime analysts, CargoNet says its service helps to prevent cargo theft and improve recovery rates through secure information sharing among theft victims, their business partners and law enforcement officials.
