Emirates SkyCargo logs one mil e-cargoes for month
The total number of shipments of e-freight and paperless cargo consignments of Emirates SkyCargo, a division of Emirates airline, has touched the one million kilos mark, a one month milestone. The airline also passed the sixteen million kilo mark in total e-freight shipments.
Emirates, which has achieved this landmark in just 19 months, is now seeing around 12 percent of shipments from compliant airports being sent using e-freight. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), because of lower costs of e-freight, the industry is able to save up to $4.9 billion every year.
