Kalmar and Navis launch OneTerminal automated solution

Kalmar and Navis, both Cargotec companies, recently introduced Kalmar OneTerminal at TOC Europe. Kalmar OneTerminal is an integrated automation solution for container terminals, combining Kalmar and Navis software, equipment and services.

OneTerminal projects cover the automation of the container-handling equipment, the control systems with Kalmar TLS software, the Navis N4 terminal operating system, and project services that will support the terminal through the design and implementation phases, according to a Cargotec statement.

With one key contact and one core team, Cargotec says the Kalmar OneTerminal makes automation accessible, mitigates the risks involved and helps customers realize the full potential of their terminal operations. Kalmar OneTerminal combines software systems, equipment and services both during project implementation and after the go-live stage.

Kalmar OneTerminal offers initial concepts for the

automatic stacking crane, AutoStrad and AutoRTG terminals based on the integrated combination of Navis N4 terminal operating system and Kalmar's terminal logistic system TLS.

"We believe that the port industry is at the start of the next big wave of automation," said Frank Kho, vice president of development at Kalmar. "Kalmar and Navis as global technology leaders in the field are strongly contributing to this transformation and addressing the challenges the industry is facing."
