S.C.'s Port Greer to implement new gate system on Monday

Please note that the South Carolina Ports Authority will implement the Advanced Gate System (AGS) at Inland Port Greer on Monday, May 23.

Effective this Monday, every individual truck mission and equipment transaction at Inland Port Greer — including all pickups and drop-offs of loads, empties and chassis —will require a Gate Code that the trucking company obtains in advance and provides to the driver.

Trucking companies create the Gate Codes through GO!Port, a web-based application that allows the user the ability to generate Gate Codes from a desktop computer.

The trucking company must "pre-advise" their missions in GO!Port to obtain the Gate Codes, and the driver must enter these valid Gate Codes in the lanes to complete their missions.

A unique Gate Code is required for each equipment move. For example, an empty gate (receive) and loaded gate (deliver) will require two Gate Codes.

To request a GO!Port Admin account, the trucking company terminal manager or dispatcher should register on-line. To navigate to the page, go to www.SCSPA.com > Tools and scroll down.

One GO!Port Admin account will be provided to the terminal manager/owner for each motor carrier SCAC and physical location.
