PL Dachser adopts CargoSphere rate management system

Global 3PL Dachser recently launched CargoSphere's contract and rate management system worldwide to help manage global rates. The cloud-based program was deployed at 187 Dachser air and sea logistics branches in 36 countries, according to a statement from CargoSphere.

After submitting a winning bid, the transportation solutions firm worked with Dachser leadership in the U.S, Germany and China to facilitate online access of thousands of company users to hundreds of carrier contracts.

The Dachser teams are using the CargoSphere SUDS upload and diagnostics solution, which reads and processes external freight rate data directly from any static document and loads it into a rate system database for more efficient contract management. Their global surcharge management feature provides efficient management tools for contract accessories.

"For years, many of the largest forwarders have chosen to outsource rate management services because they simply didn't believe they could handle the work themselves. Dachser's use of CargoSphere to manage their global rates is proof positive of this continuing trend towards automation and technology over outsourced rate services," said Neil Barni, president of CargoSphere.
