Globe Tracker taps Vodafone as M2M platform supplier

Globe Tracker International said it has chosen Vodafone to be its machine-to-machine communications platform supplier.

Vodafone's Global SIM will provide wireless network connectivity to GTI's Smart Autonomous Asset solution, the statement said, to further facilitate end-to-end global supply chain visibility.

Vodafone's M2M platform enables businesses to manage M2M deployments centrally across multiple territories, providing greater control and lowering costs, the statement said.

GTI's Smart Autonomous Asset Solution tracks, globally manages and monitors assets on land and sea. The suite of visibility devices and networks includes the company's Trade Data Exchange Network, Smart Autonomous Asset Network, and Globe Tracker Communications Unit.

"M2M communications are transforming global trade by enabling companies to track their products end-to-end and increase productivity," said Erik Brenneis, director of M2M at Vodafone.
