New board members for GT Nexus, AIM

New board members were announced this week by the tech firms GT Nexus and AIM, a global association for bar codes and RFID.

Léo Apotheker was appointed to the GT Nexus board of directors. Apotheker most recently served as CEO at SAP AG, where he spent over 20 years.

“The next wave in business software is going to be network platforms like GT Nexus," said Apotheker. "These newer cloud-based systems were designed to go beyond the bounds of a single enterprise and connect entire trading communities which is what ultimately enables highly agile business networks. GT Nexus is at the forefront of this revolution, a leader with a proven track record, and they’re focused on one of the biggest opportunities around: global trade and logistics.”

Meanwhile, it was announced that David Shannon, senior vice president of product management, marketing and strategy for Savi Technology, a Lockheed Martin company, has been elected to the ten-person board of directors of AIM, the international association for bar code, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and enterprise mobile computing.

“It is an honor to join the Board of AIM at a pivotal time when wireless solutions are converging to bring greater efficiencies and improved processes to government and commercial organizations,” said Shannon.
