Cargotec delivers zero-emission RTGs to Vietnam port

Cargotec announced it delivered six Kalmar E-One2 zero-emission rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes to terminal operator Saigon Newport and its subsidiaries, Tan Cang Logistics Joint Stock Company and Tan Cang Warehousing Joint Stock Company in Vietnam.

The cranes receive power through cable reel, and are the company's first such machines operating in Asia.

Saigon Newport is Vietnam's largest container terminal operator, handling 80 percent of its cargo in the Ho Chi Minh City and nearly 50 percent nationwide. In 2009, SNP handled 2.4 million TEUs, a 20 percent increase over the previous year.
