Central Florida Intermodal Logistics Center deploys Tideworks TOS

Terminal management software company Tideworks Technology® announced that CSX Intermodal Terminals has successfully deployed Tideworks' terminal operating system (TOS), including its dispatch and equipment control system at a new intermodal facility in Winter Haven, Florida.

Tideworks said it won the bid to replace the in-house operating systems and provide intermodal TOS for CSXIT's nationwide network of 38 terminals. The new 318-acre Winter Haven facility began operations earlier this year to serve the Orlando, Tampa and other regional Florida markets, with a capacity of up to 300,000 containers a year. The Central Florida ILC deployment marks one of five CSXIT intermodal terminals now live with Tideworks' TOS.

"CSX is a dynamic provider of transportation, logistics and distribution nationwide and this implementation continues to validate our technology

in the intermodal rail terminal space, a priority market for us as we continue to expand and bring efficiency to more transportation organizations," said Michael Schwank, president of Tideworks Technology, in the statement.

Specific TOS features at the Central Florida ILC, according to the statement, include "Live Lift," which allows automatic planning directly to and from rail and trackside stacks, as well as the ability to escalate gate moves and reduce truck dwell time.
