Cargotec receives big order for straddle carriers

Cargotec recently scored a big order of 22 Kalmar straddle carriers from Patrick Stevedores, Australia’s top container handling operator, Cargotec announced today. Reportedly, 12 carriers will go to Patrick’s East Swanson Dock in Melbourne dock by December 2012, and 10 will go to the Port Botany Bay Terminal in Sydney by September of this year.

According to the statement, the Cargotec Australian team will provide maintenance support to the 50-ton capacity ESC 350W straddle carriers. The team has delivered more than 120 Kalmar straddle carriers to Patrick container terminals over the past 28 years, with 108 units still in operation.
