Gaussin announces $10.8M equipment order from Indonesian port

Indonesia's port terminal operator, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III, also called Pelindo III, has contracted with French firm Gaussin to supply 50 automated terminal trailers type V4 and 50 power packs for its new Lamong Bay Terminal at Tanjung Perak Port.

The deal is worth $10.8 million, according to The Jakarta Post.

"I am delighted to finalize this order [for ATTs], given all the alternative options on the market," said Elvio Simonetti, sales director, port equipment, for Gaussin Manugistique.

Gaussin SA director Christophe Gaussin said the tractors were up to 30 percent more fuel-efficient compared to conventional ones.

The ATTs will be supported locally by PT Portek Indonesia.

The equipment is scheduled for delivery between 2014 and 2016.
