Contship Italia Group to implement latest Navis TOS at five terminals

Contship Italia Group group will implement Cargotec's Navis SPARCS N4 terminal operating system at its five Italian container terminals at Cagliari, La Spezia, Gioia Tauro, Ravenna, and Tangier, according to a statement issued by Navis,

As the largest Italian terminal operator, Contship Italia Group handled more than 5.1 million TEUs in the Mediterranean region in 2012. 

"Because of the long and successful partnership with Navis since 1998, Contship Italia Group has decided to move to SPARCS N4," said Marco Simonetti, Vice President Maritime Terminals, Contship Italia Group. "We'll remain one step ahead of our competitors and stand ready to support our clients' needs."

DSP, Data and System Planning, a Navis partner and IT services provider for ports and terminals, will lead the five-terminal implementation project, expected to be operational by 2016.

Contship Italia Group terminals will deploy the SPARCS N4 terminal operating system at Cagliari International Container Terminal, La Spezia Container Terminal, Terminal Container Ravenna, Eurogate Tangier and Medcenter Container Terminal.
