Konecranes signs equipment order with Indonesian terminal for over $130M

Konecranes penned a large container handling equipment order deal today with state-owned Indonesian terminal operator Pelindo III. The value of the transaction was not disclosed, but will top $130 million.

The order includes 10 ship-to-shore cranes, 20 automated stacking cranes and 5 straddle carriers, scheduled for delivery in 2014 and 2016.

"We are proud to be the first to deliver an automated container yard in Indonesia," said Tuomas Saastamoinen, director of sales and marketing for Konecranes.

The government of Indonesia has introduced a national freight transport program to improve the movement of goods at the country's ports.
