Canadian Tire taps Descartes for Customs technology

Descartes Systems Group announced that Canadian Tire Corporation will utilize the tech firm’s Customs Self Assessment (CSA) software-as-a-service platform.

Descartes’ customs brokerage and security solution, ITMR4, connects to the company’s legacy and reporting systems as well as processes Canadian Tire’s customs filing entries, the company said in a press release.

The CSA program is a program for select Canadian importers designed for low-risk, pre-approved organizations. Importers can utilize systems and processes that meet Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) requirements in order to forward trade data and to report and pay monthly taxes and duties to their own financial institutions.
