Security Systems
Keeping your port and/or warehouse safe requires planning and the right tools. As criminals become more innovative, so must the security systems. Below are a wide variety of security systems ranging from security seals, to RFID readers, to night surveillance camera systems.
Company: AAID Security Solutions
Product: Ultra long range RFID readers, tags, accessories, and software
Function: To provide asset loss prevention, personnel and visitor tracking and identification, security gate access control, vehicle identification and tracking, and emergency evacuation and mustering to all industries.
Special Features: Motion sensing, tamper detect features
How it Works: Utilizing dual “Passive” 433.92 MHz RFID long range readers at doors, gates, portals, and checkpoints, AAID is able to read personnel, asset, and vehicle tags in AB/BA logic to determine: direction of travel; true time and attendance; access control; asset loss prevention; and emergency evacuation and mustering. Overlapping “Passive” readers also allow AAID to cover (or monitor) entire buildings and campuses for “real-time” inventory management and visitor/employee tracking applications.

Company: ICX Vision Systems (formerly PureTech Systems)
Product: PureActiv - Automated Outdoor Video Surveillance, Scene Analyzer - Intelligent Video Edge Device
Function: Acts as force multiplier by turning ordinary security cameras into intelligent monitoring devices.
Special Features: Features include innovative geographic map presentation, advanced object detection, classification and tracking, video stabilization, fence intrusion detection, radar and AIS integration automated camera steering, scalable video distribution, automated security policy response, NVR functionality, and automatic object following.
How it Works: The PureActiv system receives standard analog or IP video signals and evaluates the scene for objects of interest. The system can be configured to monitor certain areas and look for specific types of intruders, exhibiting specific speeds or behaviors, etc. It can even learn new types of objects specific to a particular scenario. Subsequently, it can fuse data from other sensors (radar, AIS, fence intrusion, access control) and control cameras to react to detected events, store and review video, and manage annunciation of associated alarms. All this can be done in the context of a map of the facility to promote a high level of situational awareness for security forces. The system can be implemented in a server based solution or an edge device deployment.

Company: Smith Detection
Product: HCVP 6030 – Compact Pass Through Cargo Scanner
Function:
• X-ray scanner for inspection of cargo
• Adaptable portal for trucks, containers, pallets and air cargo
• High throughput, up to 140 vehicles/hour
• Small footprint with low x-ray emission
• Advanced x-ray generation and sensor technology
• Optimized cost/performance ratio
Special Features: The HCVP 6030 can be upgraded with most options available within Smith’s hi-energy cargo inspection system family — automatic radioactive material detections (ARD), multiple review image workstations (RIW), data base workstations (DBW) and more.
How it works: Because of the modular design of HCVP 6030, the technical container can easily be equipped with portals of different sizes: from a typical portal clearance of 400 x 450 (width x height in cm) for trucks and containers, down to 120 x 180 for pallets and parcels. Trucks and vehicles pass through on their own wheels being scanned from the end of the driver’s cabin to the end of the load. And through put is up to 140 vehicles per hour.

Company: TydenBrammall
Product: Cargo Bolt Security Seals
Function: Helps protect and secure intermodal containers and high-value, high-risk shipments by helping to prevent theft and tampering.
Special Features: Exceed ISO/PAS 17712 performance standards for High Security seals in shear resistance, impact resistance, bending strength and tensile strength, and they meet U.S. Public Law 110-53 seal requirements. The jacketed lock body is laser engraved with a large, easy-to-read serial number to prevent identification problems. The lock body and bolt are packaged together as a matched pair in clear poly bags that are sequentially attached by seal serial numbers, increasing shippers’ ease of tracking and accountability. Available in both economical and heavy-duty models, 5/16-inch and 3/8-inch shank size diameters, and a variety of color and marking options.
How it Works: The steel bolt and lock body are zinc-plated to resist corrosion, and the lock body is also covered with an impact-resistant polymer that indicates evidence of tampering. Once the two are locked together, the only way to remove the seal is by using heavy-duty bolt cutters. Once it has been cut, it can’t be reverted back to its original form, providing a formidable deterrent to cargo tampering and theft.

Company: Vumii
Product: Discoverii
Function: Discoverii is Vumii’s long-range, night surveillance camera system that offers unique natural contrast and continuous zoom, high magnification optics in zero light, situational awareness in complete darkness, and full color in daytime conditions up to 3,000 meters away. IT provides ideal detection, recognition, and identification capabilities that enable security personnel to assess and respond to threats earlier and more effectively.
Special Features: Discoverii cameras are able to identify targets at all ranges between 600 and 3,000 meters and provide images in which people look like people, and words, characters, and markings can be read. The beam divergence can be widened or narrowed, and the light intensity can be increased or decreased with software or joystick controls, allowing the user to read reflective numbers on vessels or license plates on vehicles, or accomplish other similar tasks. The system is affordable and integrates easily with existing security architectures.
How it Works: Based on an innovative, near infrared, continuous wave laser illumination technology, the Discoverii system automatically synchronizes to an integrated CCD imager with associated optics and filters. By producing its own invisible light source of approximately 810nm wavelength, continuous wave laser illumination technology produces near-optical contrast imagery, in which markings can be read and people can be recognized from zero light to full daylight. With high magnification capabilities (up to 60 times) through the use of a continuous optical zoom lens, the ability to see through windows or windshields at night is possible. Continuous wave laser illumination technology is versatile as it produces high-resolution, court admissible video, requires minimal training, and has low-cost maintenance.
