Lift Trucks

When it comes to choosing a lift truck, there is a tremendous variety of configurations and options available. It’s not just about weight capacity and lift height any more. Choices now include tire types and fuel types (gas, electric, or propane), as well as a wide variety of options.

Below are just a few of the companies offering options to help you best utilize your space.

Company: Cat Lift Trucks

Product: ET4000 3-wheel electric lift truck

Function: The 100% alternating current 3-wheel electric lift truck is designed for efficiency and reliability in applications that require exceptional maneuverability.

Special Features: Reliable AC technology powers the drive, hydraulic and steering systems for exceptional performance. Faster speeds and quicker lift/lowering keep you moving at peak capacity.

How it Works: The innovative MicroCommand™ AC control system optimizes the productivity and energy efficiency of your operations. In comparison with many models that typically offer 250-hour service intervals, our 3-wheel lift trucks come with service intervals
up to 500 hours.

Customers: Built to accommodate a full range of demanding manufacturing environments, these trucks are common in the warehousing, distribution, and food and beverage industries.

Company: Hyster Company

Product: Yardmaster II

Function: Hyster Yardmaster II reach stackers are designed to fit the most demanding material, handling jobs and work with load capacities up to 101,000 pounds.

Special Features: Built with a Cummins 10.8L QSM 11 300 horsepower engine for an unladen lift speed of 94 ft/min, the Yardmaster II reach stackers can move the heaviest loads quickly and efficiently.  In addition, the truck’s high-strength boom allows for lifting 9’6’’ or 8’6’’ containers five-high in the first row, providing the dependability and strength for heavy-duty container stacking applications.

How It Works: The Yardmaster II series utilizes an advanced combination of engine, transmission and hydraulic technologies, providing maximum performance for handling. Improvements in cycle speeds enable the movement of more containers, while an improved hydraulic system increases dependability and minimizes maintenance time. The series also features the Hyster ComforCab II, designed for driver comfort and visibility for maximum productivity.

Company: Crown Equipment

Product: RC 5500 Series Stand-Up Counterbalanced Lift Truck

Function: This is the ideal solution for a full range of material handling applications, including loading and unloading trailers, transporting materials and put away tasks. It’s designed to give the operator unmatched visibility, operator comfort and ride control while performing tasks in narrow aisles and congested docks and trailers.

Special Features/How it Works: Crown’s revolutionary design increases productivity by enhancing ergonomics and comfort. The lift truck’s FlexRideTM suspension keeps operators comfortable. It reduces shock and vibration by up to three times more than other stand-up counterbalanced lift trucks. The lift truck features Crown’s Access 1 2 3 Comprehensive System Control. It gathers and communicates operational information about the truck, including speed, direction, load weight, fork position, to optimize performance. In 2007, the Crown RC 5500 received the Good DesignTM award from the Chicago  Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, which recognizes new, visionary and innovative product concepts, invention and originality.

Company: Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks

Product: Electric FBC15-30N Series

Function: This is designed to work in tight places, with a lift capacity up to 3 tonnes.

Special Features: The lift truck was developed from an award-winning design, but is now powered by state-of-the-art AC motors. The compact four-wheel electric offers the strength and speed of a diesel without the noise and emissions. Operation costs are minimized thanks to the truck’s tremendous efficiency, low maintenance requirements, and 500-hour service interval.

How It Works: The powerful AC drive motor provides high torque — even at fast speeds — for rapid acceleration and great ramp performance. The load capacities range from 1,500 to 3,000 kg, and its lifting speed ranges from.53/.71 to .36/.055 meters per second. The electronic motor has drive motor capacity of 14 KW (60 minutes, short duty). Smooth cushion tires minimize rolling resistance for lower energy consumption and longer shifts, while maximizing stability at high lifts.

Company: Wiggins Lift Company

Product: Yard Bull™ LoPRO™

Function: With a low center of gravity and high tip factor, this line of lift trucks is application-specific and built from the ground up to meet a customer’s operational needs. The Yard Bull™ LoPRO™ is available in a variety of models with lift capacities ranging from 10k to 100k pounds; load centers ranging from 24” to 48” and lift heights to meet the customer’s requirements. They’re designed to move general cargo and break bulk items such as steel coils, and are also employed by the U.S. Military to move materials dockside and onboard ship, including live ordinance.

Special Features: The Yard Bull™ LoPRO™ employs Wiggins Lift’s IQAN onboard communications system, which monitors and displays the status of engine performance, diagnostics, and mast lift moment, as well as the status of the Wiggins optional patented Stabilift System. Wiggins also offers a dual capacity LoPRO™ by simply adding a quick mount and dismount counterweight, whereby a 30,000 lb. capacity truck can become a 52,000 lb lift truck.
